Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, President, University of Maryland, Baltimore County, will address the ethical implications for higher education of a society increasingly driven by science and technology. Dr. Hrabowski has been a transformational leader at UMBC over three decades, creating an extraordinary record of supporting and graduating students of color in science, technology, engineering, and math. He has:

  • Been featured on 60 Minutes.
  • Led President Obama’s Advisory Commission
  • on Educational Excellence for African Americans.
  • Participated in Dr. King’s 1963 Children’s
  • Crusade in Birmingham.
  • Received a list of awards and publications too
  • numerous to mention.

In conversation with Reverend Abhi Janamanchi and our virtual and in-person audience, Dr. Hrabowski will talk about how shared leadership, high expectations, and a sense of community can combine with innovations in teaching to empower students of all backgrounds for success.
