CHILDREN’S LITERATURE AND CENSORSHIP
Maria Salvadore, M.L.S., M.A., will be our featured speaker. Maria served as a consultant in children's literature and literacy and was an adjunct faculty member at the University of Maryland for more than 20 years. Maria has chaired numerous children's book award committees like the Washington Post /Children’s Book Guild Nonfiction Award, the Boston Globe Horn Book Awards and the Caldecott Committee. In addition, she has led parent workshops in how to use children's television to enhance literacy. Along with Susan Hepler, Maria co-authored the book, Books Your Kids Will Talk About. She is currently with the Children and Teens Department at Politics and Prose Bookstore.
